# Prediction
Prediction is what a meaning expects will happen.
## Meaning
A prediction makes a [[Lived Test|lived test]] testable.
A prediction says what a meaning expects before [[Action|action]] leads to a [[Result|result]].
A prediction is not certainty.
A prediction is not the desired outcome.
A prediction is a clear expectation that can be confirmed, corrected, complicated, or disproven by a result.
In Joe's Mynd, prediction helps separate:
- what Joe meant
- what Joe expected
- what Joe wanted
- what actually happened
- what the result taught
The current mission lived-test prediction is that one small [[Build|build]] of a [[Language Alignment System]] should improve clarity, action, relationship, or [[Well-being|well-being]] without creating too much pressure or abstraction.
## Source Of Meaning
This note is grounded in [[Lived Test]], [[Result Capture]], [[Result]], [[Joe Mission Lived Test Plan 2026-06-19]], and the need for Joe's Mynd to learn from the difference between expectation and what happened.
## Relationship Over Time
This note should mature as Joe and Codex run lived tests and learn what kinds of predictions make meaning easier to test without making life feel mechanical.

## Tensions
A prediction can clarify a test, but it can also make Joe over-intellectualize action. The prediction should be simple enough that life can answer it.
## Question
What do we expect will happen?
