# TMI Pliancy
TMI Pliancy is the effortlessness and flexibility that arise when the mind and body stop fighting stable attention and mindfulness.
## Meaning
In TMI, mental pliancy appears when attention and mindfulness can continue without inner chatter and resistance.
Physical pliancy appears when the sensory system grows quiet enough that bodily discomfort no longer dominates the sit in the usual way.
Pliancy is not collapse or passivity.
It is the ease that comes when the system is unified enough to keep practicing without constant strain.

## Relationship Over Time
This meaning should remain descriptive rather than aspirational until Joe has practice experience that calls for it.

## Tensions
Pliancy can become a fantasy of effortless practice.
In TMI, effortlessness is the fruit of training, not a demand placed on the current mind.
## Question
Where is effort still useful, and where is it beginning to get in the way?
