# Meaning Disagreement Flow
Meaning Disagreement Flow is the public path for noticing when two people do not mean the same thing yet and turning that difference into clearer [[Shared Meaning|shared meaning]].
## Meaning
Use this when a reader, teammate, friend, client, or agent says:
- "That is not what I mean by that word."
- "I understand the word differently."
- "This definition is missing something."
- "I agree with the value, but not the wording."
- "This creates confusion for me."
The flow is:
1. Name the word or phrase.
2. Name Joe's current meaning from the public note.
3. Name the other meaning in plain language.
4. Ask whether the difference is a true difference, missing context, unclear wording, or a different use case.
5. Use [[Shared Meaning Check]].
6. Use [[Mynd Feedback Loop]] if the difference should become public-safe feedback.
7. Decide whether the note needs a better definition, a related word, a tension, a question, or no change.
Simple format:
```text
Word:
Joe's current meaning:
My meaning:
Where we align:
Where we do not align yet:
What would make this clearer:
```
Disagreement is not failure.
Clear difference is useful because it protects [[Relationship|relationship]], [[Action|action]], and [[Well-being|well-being]] from false agreement.

## Source Of Meaning
This note comes from Joe's language-alignment goal: people should be able to understand what he means, compare it with what they mean, and create clearer shared language over time.
## Relationship Over Time
This flow should become one of the most valuable parts of Joe's Mynd.
Every honest difference can make the ontology more useful if it is handled cleanly.

## Tensions
The system should welcome meaning differences without turning every difference into a debate.
Sometimes the best outcome is shared meaning.
Sometimes the best outcome is a clear translation between different meanings.
## Question
Where do we mean the same thing, and where do we not align yet?
